Along the river numerous animals can be found. Along the shore Crocodiles and hippopotamus are abundant. Large animals such as elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, and buffalo can be found near the river in many areas.

Zambezi’s (year 6) broadcast this week is themed around light and the eye. The students also talk about King Kong, the new London Mayor and the EU Referendum.

Yarra Summer 2016

The Yarra River runs through Melbourne. In the final stages of its journey it passes through Melbourne’s ports and oil refineries. It concludes its journey muddy, full of pollution in Port Phillip Bay. Up to 350,000 cigarette butts enter the Yarra every day via stormwater drains. Efforts are being made to clean up the river.

This week Yarra class (year 2) talk about their science project and seeds that have been to space. They also share their knowledge about the International Space Station and discuss whether there is life in space.

Volga Autumn 2015

The Volga is the longest river in Europe. It flows through central Russia and into the Caspian Sea, and is considered as the national river of Russia.

The students also talk about life in space, they make a poem from a newspaper page (Beat Box Cat), talk about their typical Christmas and play Repeat at Home: Artists where they try to draw a famous work of art based on someone’s description of it.  (See the paintings here and here).
